Vintage jars made by Ball Brothers Glass Manufacturing
Ball (originally Ball Brothers Glass Manufacturing) is an American company that is is famous for its glass jars. According to Wikipedia, it’s actually the largest producer of recyclable beverage cans in the world. How about that?
In 2013, Ball celebrated the 100th anniversary of its first series of jars. At the beginning of the 20th century they launched the first true “perfect mason” jar. To celebrate this occasion, they designed these blue limited edition jars.
The vintage jars have embossed logo’s and come in a light blue color. To complete the vintage styling, they come in a beautiful retro tray carton. They are perfect for all of your home canning needs or as a collector’s item. The glass is thick and, commensurate with age, has some small marks and blemishes which I think add to the charm of the jars. The jars have a diameter of 11.5cm at the base narrowing to 6.5cm at the neck. They are 23.5 cm tall (without lid) They hold 2 US quarts (half a gallon).
The company is planning on releasing more limited edition jars in the future. In the meantime, you can get this one for $12.77 on Amazon.
